AGM 8th February 2024
We had a great turn out of over 50 people at our recent AGM. We are able to report on the last years activities, present our accounts and elect trustees for the coming year. As well as re-electing some trustess we are very pleased to elect 3 new trustees: Claire Redrobe, Gill Leng and Sarah Clarke. See the trustees page for details of all the MOET trustees.
The meeting was opend with some welcoming commnets for Councillor Thomas Robinson, who has had a long association with Ghyll Head going back to his school days. Following the formal part of the meeting we had presentations from:
- Samantha Barton, North West Regional Field Worker, Street Games, about the Girls and Young Women’s Festival.
- Jackson Garner (GLL) about the plans for developing Debdale Outdoor Centre.
- Martin Ware Assistant Manager, Debdale with news about Jasper, Windsurfing World Champion, who developed his skills at Debdale.
- Kay Hawk, Partnership Manager from British Orienteering Federation, the development of Virtual Orienteering and the Find My Way Project.
- Nicky Boothroyd, Manchester Active about refreshing Manchester’s Outdoor Adventurous Activity Strategy
We were then honoured that the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Councillor Yasmine Dar attended to make some closing remarks, in which she recalled her recent visit to Ghyll Head as wel as going there when she was at Whally Range High School.
