Ghyll Head Challenge Weekend Report
The 2024 GH challenge was well supported by our Trustees, members, partner organisations and friends. Despite the November weather we all managed to complete a challenge, with half of the group tackling The Old Man of Coniston and the others braving a lakeside walk and paddle across Windermere.
Most of the participants stayed over on the Saturday night and we had a bit of a social, with the infamous GH lasagne and Sticky Toffee Pudding and time to share stories from our day on the hills and lake. Huge thanks to the GH staff for making it happen and supporting us so well and of course to all our loyal supporters who gave up their weekend to support our cause.
We raised over £3,000 and money is still being donated, so the total is still growing. As well as raising money we are building a community of supporters who like us are passionate about children and young people experiencing the Great Outdoors.
The money is being used to develop and adapt the ropes course to make it more accessible to children and young people with a disability.
We will be announcing the date of next year’s challenge very soon, so make sure you get it in your calendar and sign up.
