Didsbury Beer Festival, and Andy Burnham, supports MOET

It was great news when we heard that the Didsbury Beer Festival had selected MOET as one of the 2 charities it would support in 2024. We were invited to have a stand at the event at the end of October and were able to meet with a variety of people who attended, as well as sampling some of the wide selection of beers!

We prepared a short, fun quiz to help us engage with the visitors and were pleased that Fell Brewery, from Cumbria, gave us some vouchers to use in their bars to offer as prizes. Here are the questions. You might like to try to find the answers for fun.

  1. Which pub traditionally marks the start of the Pennine Way?
  2. Which pub was the training base for Edmund Hilary’s team preparing for the 1953 Everest expedition?
  3. Where are you likely to have a beer after climbing Stanage Edge?
  4. Which pub in of Castleton is popular among cavers?
  5. Which Cumbrian brewery has a bar in Chorlton?
  6. Which festival beer can also be found on Back Forest Ridge?
  7. What do these Peak District pubs have in common? -Royal Oak(Hurdlow), Duke of York(Pomeroy) and The Waterloo Inn(Biggin-by-Hartington

  9. In which village in Lancashire does theAssheton Armshave sweeping views of Pendle Hill?
  10. The Old Hall Hotel in the village of Hopeis said to have a secret tunnel leading to which historic site?

Amongst the visitors were local politicians, including the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham. He was very supportive of of our work.

The event was a success and we are very grateful to have now received a donation of £5000 from their surplus. Thank you very much Didsbury Beer Festival organisers!
