Thank You to Our Retiring Trustees

Two of our long standing Trustees, Dave Rogers and Alistair Cox, stood down at our recent AGM, although they are not abandoning us and we know we will be able to rely on their continued support of MOET.

Dave Rogers

David Rogers

Dave was Head of Ghyll Head for many years and an important figure in making the case for the value of Outdoor Education, both within Manchester and nationally. Supported by Friends of Ghyll Head he was at the centre of the battle to keep the centre operational though the nineties and the noughties. After his retirement, and despite living in Cumbria, Dave has contributed his extensive knowledge and experience in helping MOET extend its remit to promote the value of outdoor learning in the development of children and young people. Although he is stepping down as a trustee to make way for the next generation we are pleased to know he will continue to support our activities.

Alistair Cox

Alistair Cox

Alistair represented Moss side on Manchester City Council for many years. He picked up the baton from Kath Fry to present the arguments in support of Ghyll Head and outdoor education within the local council, where he was extremely well respected as a man of wisdom and integrity. He served as chair of the Children and Young Peoples Scrutiny Committee, and as chair of the Ghyll Head Management Committee, when it was run by the local authority. Although he is busy with other organisations since steeping down as a councillor we are pleased to be assured of his continued support for MOET
