Ghyll Head visit – an introduction for Manchester’s Youth & Play Organisations

This one day course is the perfect introduction to Manchester’s award-winning residential centre.

This is an all-inclusive day with transport to and from Manchester, a tour of the centre, an introduction to the processes involved in organising a residential visit, and an afternoon activity.

Designed for all Youth Leaders, whether you have previous experience or not, our experienced staff will support you through the essential skills needed to enjoy a rewarding group visit to this fantastic centre on Lake Windermere in the Lake District.

What this course includes:- 

  • Transport from Wythenshawe Park to Ghyll Head and back (or meet you there)
  • Lunch provided
  • An afternoon activity 
  • A certificate of attendance for completing the course

Tuesday 24th March 9am – 5.30pmThis course takes place at Ghyll Head Outdoor Education and Activity Centre, Windermere, Lake District 

This course is not a formal leadership qualification but provides a solid foundation for further development. 

It’s a great way to get to know the centre, find out what they can offer and how to organise a visit. You’ll spend the day with other like-minded Youth Leaders – another great way to gain from other’s experience on incorporating Adventurous Activity into your programme.

There are 12 fully funded places available for Youth and Community Leaders from VCSO organisations in Manchester (cost usually £120 per person). These places are funded by the Youth, Play & Participation team and Manchester Outdoor Education Trust (MOET).
